Hall & Oates "unplugged" at
NDR II, Germany, 1998
|
In the
70s and early 80s Daryl Hall and John Oates was an extremely successful songwriter- and
singer-duet from Philadelphia, white representatives of the Philly Soul Sound rife at that
time.
They were so
genuine and successful, that observers of the scene worried which chances black
interpreters still had if there were more white-washes like Hall & Oates. Hits which
were allowed to have remained in memory: RICH GIRL, OUT OF TOUCH, SARA SMILE, MANEATER.
